Toma cozma church in Iasi

Restoration, 2005-2009

The church ‘Saint Apostle Thomas and Saint Martyr Catherine’ from Iasi was built in 1807, being classified as a historical monument. It has a trilobite plan with a side porch, narthex, nave and altar and a bell tower located above the entrance.

The construction has undergone many transformations over time, suffering from earthquakes and destruction caused by external factors, as well as degradation due to humidity.

Within the project realized between 2005 and 2009, structural strengthening works specific to the interventions on the historical monuments were carried out. The exterior appearance of the exposed stone masonry, as well as the ornaments, were preserved and repaired. The whole waterproofing system has been revised.
